Students of the graduate study programme in Crisis Management visited the Main Flood Defence Centre at Croatian Waters on 28 October 2025.

Tomislav Novosel, Head of the Main Flood Defence Centre, introduced the students to the flood defence system in the Republic of Croatia, the activities of Croatian Waters, and real-life examples of flood events and the measures implemented to protect the population and property.
Special emphasis was placed on new technologies used to monitor hydrological indicators, enabling the timely initiation of flood defence measures, as well as on the development of flood defence systems through EU-funded projects.

A total of 26 students participated in the visit and expressed their satisfaction with the experience — particularly with the presentation of recent flood events in Croatia and the operational field activities carried out as part of the country’s flood defence efforts.
