Students of the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica followed the lecture by the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mr. Mato Franković, with great interest. Through their questions after the lecture, they expressed their satisfaction at having the opportunity to hear firsthand about the experiences and challenges associated with managing one of Europe’s and the world’s most renowned cities.
Mayor Franković shared numerous examples of how Dubrovnik has responded to the many crises faced as a globally recognized tourist destination.

Today, Dubrovnik stands as an example of a city that, through a clear vision, strategic planning, open dialogue with its citizens, and a sustainable approach to tourism, has achieved successful and balanced development.
From once being viewed as a negative example, it has evolved into a leading year-round destination, proving that sustainability is not just an ideal to strive for, but an ongoing process that brings real change.
