The field component of the Blended Intensive Programme BIP2025 – Crisis Management for a Sustainable Future: Health, Water, Climate and Marine Protection, part of the Erasmus+ programme, is currently taking place at the Firefighting Training Centre in Šapjane, with the support of the Directorate for Civil Protection and the Firefighting Association of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

Around 60 students and lecturers from Spain, Portugal, Romania, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Latvia, and Estonia, as well as students and professors from Velika Gorica University of Applied Sciences, are staying at the camp near Rijeka. The programme will conclude at the Days of Crisis Management conference. The knowledge and lessons learned—both theoretical and practical—during the lectures and camping experience will be presented by students in a panel discussion on the second day of the conference in Opatija, on June 4 at 12:00 PM. The panel is titled:
“Climate and Water – Have We Reached the Point of No Return?”

The international students and professors began their stay in Croatia with a warm welcome at our University, where on Saturday, May 31, a visit to the Tourist Information Centre in Velika Gorica was organized for them. The programme is coordinated by our Vice Dean for Science, Prof. Dr. Sanja Kalambura.
