Science Festival – our former students Kristina Đurašin and Vedran Mrvoš gave a lecture

13.05.2025

Alumni of the Motor Vehicles study program, Kristina Đurašin and Vedran Mrvoš, took part in this year’s Science Festival with the presentation titled “A Network of Student Achievements – Manufacturing a Motorcycle Replacement Part Using Lamination and the Effects of Engine Parameter Adjustments on Internal Combustion Engines.”

Mr. Mrvoš presented an increase in internal combustion engine power resulting from changes in engine operating parameters, specifically through software modifications of the engine control unit (ECU). He explained and demonstrated the entire process of engine map modification — from the ECU itself and reading the engine map, through different techniques and methods of altering parameters, to the tools required for properly executing these changes.

Ms. Đurašin presented the design and production of a motorcycle replacement part using the lamination process. She demonstrated the creation of a motorcycle shock absorber protector model, the development of a mold using a 3D printer, and the subsequent production of a prototype replacement part made of composite material using the lamination method.

Our professor, Dr. Boris Čulina, also joined the lecture with an engaging presentation on “Mathematics and the Language of Mathematics.”

We sincerely thank our alumni Vedran and Kristina, as well as all the faculty members who participated in the Festival’s program.

Special thanks go to the students from the Vocational and Economic Secondary Schools in Velika Gorica, along with their teachers, who attended the lectures held by the professors of Velika Gorica University of Applied Sciences in large numbers.

The Science Festival, coordinated by our Vice Dean for Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sanja Kalambura, concludes tomorrow.
