24.06.2025

As part of the activities of the International Federation for Environmental Health (IFEH)—an organization that brings together over 40,000 members worldwide—a regional meeting of the European Federation, a full member of IFEH, is being held in Velika Gorica from June 13 to 15, 2025.

The current president of IFEH is Dr. Bruno Cvetković from the “Dr. Andrija Štampar” Teaching Institute of Public Health, while Prof. Dr. Sanja Kalambura, Vice Dean of Velika Gorica University of Applied Sciences, is both the meeting organizer and a member of the Federation.

The University is proud to host 14 environmental health experts from Belgium, Portugal, Denmark, the Netherlands, Wales, Scotland, Malta, and Estonia.
The first day of the gathering was dedicated to presenting the University and its study programs, followed by a visit to the Turopolje Museum that included a hands-on workshop on building traditional wooden houses, and a visit to the Visitor Center, where participants took part in a traditional štrukli preparation workshop. The day also featured professional lectures delivered by faculty members from the University and Marko Ružić from VG Čistoća.

Saturday is reserved for the working part of the event—a Board meeting discussing various topics, including the organization of the IFEH World Congress to be held in Dubrovnik in 2026.

In addition to this event, IFEH actively supports Velika Gorica University of Applied Sciences through staff exchange programs and participation in the organization of the scientific-professional conference “Crisis Management Days”.
