• Designing: applying your know-how and judgement in designing and specifying schemas/tables, indexes, queries and procedures to deliver on business requirement.
• Building and optimizing: applying your code writing skills to implement various queries and procedures, and data definitions objects.
• Collaborating: aligning with peers – within and beyond the database team – to proactively minimize code and logic defects.
• Architecting: participating in discussions aimed at answering business problem and/or solving tech challenges, with other team(s) including not just technical ones such as data engineering but also business ones such as product team.
• Documenting: maintaing accurate and relevant documentation of design decisions, changes, and updates to ensure clarity and sustained performance.
• Improving practice: sharing knowledge with other members of the database to advance team’s output

What We Expect From You:

• Fundamental knowledge of SQL with exceptional attention to detail
• Fundamental understanding of performance optimization in databases, with a strong desire to advance and learn
• Familiarity with leading DB products – ideally PostgreSQL, alternatively Oracle
• Familiarity with designing and managing distributed databases is a plus
• Structuring and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset
• Strong communication skills in Croatian and English
