About Master in optometry

Master in Optometry, as an upgrade to a bachelor programme, will give students specific competencies in optometry. This means that the precondition for enrollment in a master in optometry is previously acquired bachelor’s degree in optometry. People with a BSc in optometry can continue their education at the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica acquiring specialist competencies in clinical optometry and visual sciences. Specialist Master Programme in Optometry is more oriented at health care with the aim to prepare students for work in eye clinics and for collaboration with eye doctors and other health care providers.
By graduating from the Specialist Master Programme in Optometry students will be able to meet the challenges of eye health prevention.
During the study, students will be able to master the teaching content through an e-learning system designed exclusively for students at Specialist Master Programme in Optometry. This will enable students to complete the theoretical part of the study by distance learning without having to attend classes at the University. However, at certain periods student will attend the exercises in the modern optometric laboratory and eye clinics. The main advantage of the specialist optometry programme at the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica is working with health care professionals from the field of eye care, as well as, work with real patients.
This will enable students to save and manage their time and money rationally.
